The Hon Justice Nye Perram
Federal Court of Australia
Justice Perram was appointed to the Federal Court of Australia in 2008. He graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws and from the University of Oxford with a Bachelor of Civil Law. He practised as a barrister in New South Wales from 1993 and was appointed senior counsel in 2006. At the time of his appointment he was a member of the Law and Justice Foundation and the New South Wales Bar Council. His Honour is President of the Copyright Tribunal of Australia, a member of a number of the Federal Court’s panels including the Intellectual Property National Practice Area, and chair of the Court’s Digital Practice Committee.
Paul Fletcher MP

Paul Fletcher has been the Member for Bradfield since 2009. From 2013 to 2022 he was successively a Parliamentary Secretary, Minister and Cabinet Minister. Apart from nine months as Minister for Social Services, Paul’s front bench service was largely in communications and infrastructure. He was Minister for Communications, Urban Infrastructure, Cities and the Arts in the Morrison Government.
Paul is now Shadow Minister for Science, Arts, Government Services and the Digital Economy. Before politics Paul’s extensive private sector experience included eight years on the Senior Management Team at Optus. Paul has dual first class honours degrees in law and economics from Sydney University and an MBA
The Hon Courtney Houssos MLC

Courtney Houssos is the Minister for Finance, Domestic Manufacturing and Government Procurement and Natural Resources in New South Wales. She is the first female Minister for Finance and the first female Minister responsible for the mining sector in the New South Wales Government. She was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Council in 2015. Courtney was born and grew up in Forster, on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, where she attended local public primary and high schools. Courtney studied at the University of New South Wales, where she was awarded a Bachelor of Arts (Politics and International Relations, Industrial Relations). Prior to entering Parliament, Courtney was elected to be the first woman to be Country Organiser for New South Wales Labor, serving for 9 years in the role. During her time in Parliament, she has been a strong advocate on behalf of families, improving education outcomes and universal and accessible healthcare.
Courtney was previously the Shadow Minister for Better Regulation and Innovation and Shadow Minister for Natural Resources. She has also served on a large number of Parliamentary Committees, including on Education, Health, Electoral Matters and Budget oversight issues. Courtney lives in Earlwood with her husband George, daughter Anna and son Arthur.

Clarissa Amato is an experienced advocate practising in commercial litigation, family law, defamation, intellectual property and media law.
She is listed in Doyles Guide to the Legal Profession as a Leading Junior Counsel in Technology, Media & Telecommunications for 2024. She is ranked in the World Trademark Review as one of Australia’s leading trademark Counsel, which describes her as “a commercial, defamation, IP and media litigator with an excellent record.”
Clarissa has a busy media and entertainment practice, spanning all areas of the law of reputation including copyright, trademark, defamation, breach of confidence, and consumer law. She has particular expertise in developments in the law of defamation and the emerging law of privacy in Australia and England, after having spent a number of years at a high profile practice in London. With more than 10 years’ experience at the NSW Bar, she is an experienced trial advocate and is particularly skilled in obtaining urgent interlocutory relief.
In addition to her media and entertainment matters, Clarissa also maintains a diverse commercial practice encompassing contract disputes, cross-border insolvency matters and consumer law claims.
Apart from appearance and advisory work, Clarissa also accepts appointments to act as mediator. She is accredited with the Australian Disputes Centre under the National Accreditation Mediation Standards.
