Initial e-filing procedure
Since there are four, confirm your filing with the correct probate court by using the court website to verify your court information, download forms, and view fee schedules

When you submit a will for probate:

  • Submit the application and will as two separate PDFs in one filing.
  • Submit the original will within three days, either through the US Mail or in person, to the County Clerk Probate Division Office.
  • Contact the Court to set the prove-up hearing after service is issued upon e-filing the application.

You can submit proposed orders as an attachment to a lead document. If you are filing only an order you can submit a cover letter as the lead document with the proposed order as an attachment. The filing fee covers the order fee on all inventory and appraisement, annual account, final account, and annual reports. Submit the order approving at the time of filing each document listed above.

When you submit an Application for Probate of Will include an electronic image of the original will as an exhibit/attachment.  If filing an exhibit after the initial filing, file it as a supplement to the initial filings.

The probate clerk can notarize (or deputize) oaths or other instruments if filed electronically. If the instrument is sworn to before a judge or clerk on prove-up date only, it can be submitted on paper for filing along with any orders signed by the judge. There is a $2 fee for each document the Judge or clerk administers.
