Why is Clio doing this research?

As challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic continue to emerge, we recognize the need to better understand the problems legal professionals face in order to help overcome them. We hope that the information provided here will help inform industry leaders and individual practitioners in dealing with present and future issues that may emerge.

Where does the data in this research come from?

Data included in this research has been analyzed from anonymized and aggregated data from tens of thousands of customers using Clio’s legal practice management software. Clio’s COVID-19 briefings also include survey data from several studies conducted among legal professionals and consumers from the general population in the United States.

Why don’t I see my state or practice area included in the graphs on this page?

To meet our standards for anonymization and aggregation, a certain threshold of data for each state and practice area must be met before we analyze any given segment. At this time, states and practice areas not included in this page have not met this threshold.
